Photographic Trip to Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve, South Africa
South African wildlife and adventure photographer, Gavin Slabbert will lead a two lodge, 11 day action-packed safari workshop in the heart of the world renowned Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve in the heart of South Africa’s big cat country.
Limited to just 6 guests you’ll track the Big 5 as you become immersed in the diverse wildlife and unique cultures of Southern Africa. You’ll enjoy and experience all-inclusive deluxe accommodation, service, hospitality and ethnic cuisine catered by a private chef.
The safari also provides a custom photography vehicle, which offers each photographer a custom swivel seat with a wimberley head on a post.
Gavin will provide instruction before, during and after each shoot and will share his secrets to capturing the elusive “dramatic moment” including:
- Composition techniques for action photography.
- Stunning images of Leopard, Lion, Cheetah, and the balance of the Big 5.
- Photographing moving subjects in a variety of lighting situations.
- Panning techniques to create the sense of movement.
- Lens selection and composition to create emotion and impact in your images.
- Workflow tips and techniques to improve images.
- Critiques to open your eyes to different possibilities & improve your photographic skills.
The trip at $US$6,995 per person runs March 3rd – March 13th 2014 and includes roundtrip coach airfare from JFK to HDS (New York USA – Hoedspruit SA) along with:
- 10 morning game drives in their private game vehicle
- 10 afternoon / Evening game drives in their game drive vehicle
- 10 nights accommodation in Private rondavels in the Game Reserve
- Breakfast lunch and dinner provided by Private chef
- 4 Photography workshop sessions (each 3 hours in duration)
- Personalized training in the field for those that would like it
- 1 late night workshop session on shooting star trails and astro-photography and long exposures
