Photography Tour to Capture the Spirit of Arnhem Land
Professional photographers Lynn Gail and Seng Mah will host a photographic tour of Arnhem Land this spring, providing a chance to explore the rich culture of the Yolngu people through the lens of a camera.
The Yolŋu people of Arnhem Land offer some of the most unique experiences imaginable. Expect to return home with an entirely new view on the world. Arnhem land is a special place and this tour provides a wonderful opportunity to learn about their culture.
Along with Lirrwi Tourism the seven-day expedition among Yolngu homelands, will allowi you to experience Indigenous culture first-hand while indulging your passion for photography.
You will get a chance to document traditional activities like spear fishing, painting, weaving, food gathering, dancing, story-telling and music
You will also be able to spend time with Yolngu people in their traditional lands and learn about aspects of the world’s oldest continuous living culture.
“We want our guests to experience how Indigenous Australians live, connected to the environment through their spiritual knowledge of their homelands,” said tour leader Lynn Gail, who shoots for travel photography providers Lonely Planet, Getty Images and Robert Harding World Imagery. “I want to share the experience of photographing the uniqueness of Arnhem Land, where the rhythms and routines of Aboriginal culture are at one with this spectacular landscape.”
Both Lynn and professional photography teacher Seng Mah will be on hand throughout the tour to provide advice and tuition. The tour is aimed at photographers of all levels, from beginners to experienced shooters.
The East Arnhem Land Photography Tour runs from September 14 to 20, 2015, and costs $4450 per person including photographic tuition, permits, land transport, accommodation, food and local Yolngu guides. Cost excludes airfares.
