While her company, ModelCo is renowned for premium quick-fix beauty solutions that combine cutting-edge creativity, and technical innovation, Shelley is renowned for working hard.  But, in her down time she loves to travel. Here she shares the secrets of one of her favourite vacation destinations…

Stay.

Every time I visit Aspen I stay at The Little Nell. It’s a beautiful, intimate hotel perfect for truly relaxing and enjoying your time away. It was recently redesigned, to mark its 120th year, by internationally renowned designer Holly Hunt and she has done a superb job in creating a true home away from home. The Little Nell is both comfortable and elegant and I don’t imagine I will ever stay anywhere else.

Drink.

After a day of skiing, I always start off with a much-deserved cocktail in The Living Room Bar at the Little Nell. It’s a small and cosy bar with a roaring fireplace and also has a great view of the skiers making their way down Aspen Mountain.

Eat.

One of the best restaurants around is Jimmy’s Aspen – it’s a bit of an Aspen institution with great atmosphere and energy. I either order the fantastic Filet Mignon or the Rocky Mountain Trout.

Relax.

One of my favourite places in Aspen is without a doubt the Remède Spa at St Regis. It’s the ultimate in luxury and relaxation – from start to finish, Remède is all about you. Spa guests are invites to enjoy complimentary access to all Remède features including an oxygen lounge, steam caves, cold plunges, hot tubs, fitness centre, and Confluence waterfall but my favourite treatment is the Remède Spa Sanctuary – it’s truly six hours of pure decadence. The package includes a customised massage and facial, body scrub, manicure, pedicure and even a light lunch.

Alternatively, if you want a quick gym workout or a beauty treatment, Aspen Spa and Club is great.

In-Flight Survival Techniques

As soon as I board I change straight into my in-flight pyjamas. I rarely drink alcohol and prefer to re-hydrate with plenty of water and fresh juice. Instead of having 3 big meals I have 3 smaller meals, I try to get plenty of sleep & go for walks around the plane every few hours. And the best in-flight survival technique – when possible always travel with a partner in crime! Family, friend or colleague, it’s always nice to have someone to talk with on a long-haul flight. Failing that, my mini I-Pod offers a great escape.
