Shiver me timbers! LEGOLAND California Resort Hotel is open.

Located right at the main entrance of LEGOLAND California, home to more than 60 rides, shows and attractions a stay at this themed hotel will turn a day you’ll always remember into a night you’ll never forget!

The hotel is full of child-friendly features.  From secret whoopee cushions and tight-rope walking marching guards, exploding toy boxes, treasure trails and dragons through to the spectacular entrance right and Bricks Family Restaurant, you’ll find LEGO elements around every corner.

The reception desk has a lowered check-in counter where children are issued their own special welcome packets and the lobby has a castle-themed play area, complete with a 32-foot high pirate shipwreck that’s bursting through the castle walls, a blimp you can board and a moat filled with LEGO. And the restaurant, featuring a child-sized buffet station and friendly family service is dotted with humorous vignettes showing chefs at work, a pasta machine and large models of foods, including spaghetti and a big bowl of ice-cream – all made of course from LEGO. Children can even sit and colour in their very own table cover.

All 250-guest rooms located over three floors are themed, so your family can choose from one of three popular LEGO lines – Pirate, Kingdom or Adventure.  You can even dance your way up to the bedrooms in the character themed ‘disco’ elevator, complete with a mirror ball and flashing lights!  Rooms include two separate sleeping areas, with a queen-size bed for grown-ups, and a separate area for up to three little ones, complete with a bunk bed, pullout trundle bed and their very own TV!

Have to say I love the look of the Captain Red Brick and his first mate’s pirate cabin decked out with pirate bedding, curtains, wallpaper and even Polly, a LEGO parrot, that watches over you as you sleep!  After a jolly adventure on the rides in the Park, a fun dinner and the hotel entertainment send your junior shipmates up to their private bunks while you relax in the king-size cabin.

Seems like this would truly be a child’s paradise!

Room rates currently start at US$149 and the resort hotel is located at One LEGOLAND Drive, just off Interstate 5, in the seaside village of Carlsbad, 30 minutes north of San Diego and one hour south of Anaheim.

Goddess Tip:

Some 2nd and 3rd floor rooms facing west have ocean views. As a special privilege, as a hotel guest you’ll get entry to select rides and attractions before the Park officially opens. With the warmer months coming up parents won’t find it hard to find a chair at the pool – hundreds of chairs surround the area so you can sit and relax with a cocktail after an amazing day in the Park.

LEGOLAND California is open 5 days a week, closing on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, but is open daily during specific holiday periods.
