Guest Goddess, Suzanne Hart founded SHE travels in 2010 because an increasing number of independent women were looking for a travel experience tailored specifically to them. 

Here Suzanne shares with us her love of Bali and her top 3 vacation tips…

Seminyak is my preferred place to stay and party. It has excellent restaurants, groovy bars, funky venues, and great live-music options.

Head to the WooBar at the swanky W Hotel for happy hour cocktails, cool music and people watching. For something more casual, take a walk along the beach to Cantina and Warung Pantai. The ice cold Bintang will set you back around AU$2. Go here once and you’ll be welcomed back every time – like a long lost friend. 

Head back to the main road (hitch a ride on the complimentary W golf buggy transfers) and you’ll find one of my favorites: Taco Local.  It has great tacos and the margaritas are pretty good too. The street side dining has a relaxed, casual atmosphere to watch the passing parade.

If Mexican’s not your thing, you’ll find Café Petitenget great at any time of the day; I especially love their coffee and breakfast.

Across the road follow the signs to Luke Mangan’s Salt Tapas at the Sentosa Villas. The menu is all about sharing fantastic food in a sexy setting.

Around the corner and fronting the beach is the Bali institution, La Lucciola, which I love; the food and service are excellent and the coconut daiquiris are delicious.

My company, SHE travels, chooses Sentosa Villas for accommodation and it’s here we base our women’s surfing holidays. The tranquil villas are tucked away off the main drag and are the perfect retreat at the end of a busy day. Now to make time for a massage and lie by the gorgeous pool…

Suzanne’s top 3 travel tips:

Pack your favorite things – the clothes and accessories you love to wear at home are the same things you’ll want to wear on holidays.

If your smart phone travels with you, make sure it’s unlocked so you can insert a local SIM card (and save money).

Pack your essentials in your carry-on luggage such as toiletries and cosmetics, as well as a change of clothes, so you can still hit the ground running if your suitcase is lost.

SHE travels runs 7 day surfing holidays based in Seminyak for ladies.
